The Challenge

Advanced composites are gradually replacing its metallic predecessors in becoming the dominating material for airframes. With the latest generation of large airframes (as large as the entire fuselage) made of carbon-fibre reinforced plastic, it became more challenging to control the climate and contamination during repair under maintenance hangars.

Our Solution

Since it is not practical to build a clean room to house the entire aircraft, this product serves as a portable clean room (or glove box to be more accurate) that can be mounted on the curved surface of aircrafts, providing the right environment for the repair of these advanced composites.

The system filters particulate contaminants and provides the right temperature and humidity condition for composites layup per aircraft OEMs' manual requirements. The built-in sensors also monitors the temperature, humidity and particulate levels to alert users when the local condition is suitable for repair process.
